EVENT TCS holds 2012 International Forum for the Trilateral Cooperation (IFTC) in Seoul - 2012.10.15 2012.10.08


The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) holds the International Forum for the Trilateral Cooperation (IFTC) – 2012: Year of Transition and the Trilateral Cooperation in the Shilla Hotel (Yeong Bing Gwan, Ruby Room), Seoul, ROK on October 15, 2012. Dignitaries from the three countries, including Foreign Minister of the ROK, Mr. Kim Sung-hwan, Former Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, Mr. NAKAGAWA Masaharu, and Party Secretary and Vice President of Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Lu Shumin, will deliver keynote speeches in the opening session and express their expectation for the trilateral cooperation.


The IFTC consists of four sessions: 1) "Northeast Asia in Times of Transition", 2) “Strengthening Economic Cooperation and Integration”, 3) “Specific Proposals-Expanding the Horizon of the Trilateral Cooperation”, and 4) “The Role of the TCS”. The forum examines a variety of current affairs including leadership change and the political climate in Northeast Asia, maritime security, trilateral FTA, finance and industry cooperation, people to people exchange and etc.


The forum is to commemorate the 1st Anniversary of the TCS and will gather top officials, scholars, business leaders, journalists and civil society leaders from the three countries. Under the current difficulty among the three countries, the TCS expects the IFTC could further promote the importance of the trilateral cooperation. 


After the forum, the TCS holds the 1st anniversary reception to express appreciation for public attentions and supports.
