The 1st Trilateral Young Ambassador Summer Internship Program (YAP) was successfully completed in August 16th, 2013. Held by the TCS, the YAP aims to offers opportunities for young people from the three countries to develop the understanding of the trilateral cooperation and foster the sense of friendship among them.
As one of the new TCS trilateral cooperative projects, the 1st YAP draw substantial public and has received more than 600 applications from Korea, China and Japan. 27 students from the three countries were selected to join the program.
Within the 6 week internship period from July to August, the program consists of on-job trainings, actual TCS project involvement and on-site visits.
* Professional Training: Lectures on diplomatic practices and introductory knowledge about multilateral cooperation, to help develop a better understanding of diplomacy and international cooperation.
* Project Involvement: YAs were assigned to TCS operational departments, involved in various TCS projects and assisted the experienced TCS professionals in information collection, progress analysis, report drafting, etc.
* On-site Visits: YAs were granted the precious opportunities of visiting various government ministries/agencies, embassies, think-tanks, international organizations and private sectors, and have face-to-face dialogues with policy-makers and great thinkers.
Upon the end of the 1st YAP, the TCS is considering to regularly hold the YAP in the future in order to promote the trilateral cooperation.

1st YAP was interviewed by Arirang TV’s documentary program “Arirang
Prime”. The program covering the YAP will be first broadcasted on August 28
(Wed), 2013, 9am (Seoul time).
