2019.10.19 ~ 2019.10.20
From October 19 to 20, the 4th International Symposium on China-Japan-ROK Security Cooperation was held in Changsha, China. This year’s symposium was co-organized by China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) and Hunan Normal University. TCS Secretary-General MICHIGAMI Hisashi attended the symposium and delivered remarks at the opening session. More than 50 participants including diplomats, governmental officials, researchers and college students from the three countries participated in the symposium.
At the symposium, the participants exchanged views on the regional security situation, new developments on the Korean Peninsula, security policies of China, Japan and ROK, and approaches to enhance regional security cooperation. SG MICHIGAMI highlighted that close communication and constructive insights should be brought into the Northeast Asia to minimize unnecessary misunderstandings and to avoid provocative actions or unexpected situations. He hoped that the three countries could strengthen dialogues and mutual understandings regarding traditional security issues, and enhance practical cooperation in the area of non-traditional security or human security.
