She congratulated the 20th anniversary of the launch of the network and expressed gratitude to the experts and colleagues who participated in building and expanding the platform for their devotion. She underlined that cultivating future generation with sustainable development mindset was critical and thus environmental education was important in fostering such talents.

DSG CAO introduced the development of Tripartite Environmental Ministers Meeting (TEMM) and TCS’ role in the framework, especially in environmental education and public awareness improvement. For example, TCS held the Trilateral Environmental Teacher’s Exchange Program, published the 20th anniversary booklet, and engaged university students to promote environmental protection and cooperation to the local community, etc. She stated that TCS would stand by with all stakeholders to continuously enhance tripartite environmental education cooperation and improve public awareness among the three countries.

TCS working level attended the TEEN focal points’ roundtable meeting on 28-29th. During the meeting, TCS reported the outcome of the latest Trilateral Environmental Teacher’s Exchange Program and discussed with the focal points about future management and implementation of the program. The three parties recognized and appreciated TCS’ efforts in promoting trilateral cooperation in environmental education and public awareness improvement and affirmed ongoing collaboration with TCS.

TEEN is a sub-mechanism in the framework of TEMM and was launched in 2000 for environmental education experts among China, Japan, and the ROK to exchange knowledge and experience on environmental education, and foster environmental awareness among the three countries.
