Representing the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), Secretary-General MICHIGAMI Hisashi attended a Special Video Conference of Tripartite Health Ministers' Meeting (THMM) on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Response held On May 15, 2020. The Meeting was presided by Mr. MA Xiaowei, Minister of National Health Commission of China, with the participation of Mr. KATO Katsunobu, Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan, Mr. PARK Neung Hoo, Minister of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea and Dr. KASAI Takeshi, Regional Director of World Health Organization West Pacific Regional Office (WHO-WPRO). TCS Deputy Secretary-General KANG Do-ho also participated in the meeting as an observer.


At the Meeting, three ministers introduced current response of each country against COVID-19, and discussed measures of strengthening trilateral cooperation on further prevention and control. SG Michigami delivered the keynote speech by speaking highly of relevant efforts made by the three countries in combating COVID-19 pandemic. He hoped the three countries could make further contributions to tackle the infectious disease and prevent re-emergence of infection.

Joint Statement of the Special Video Conference of Tripartite Health Ministers' Meeting (THMM) on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Response was adopted at the meeting.
