TCS SG OU Boqian visited Jeju Peace Institute(JPI) and had a meeting with President Dr. HAN In-Taek to discuss the TCS’ participation in this year’s Jeju Forum and explore ways to further enhance cooperation between the two organizations.
President HAN expressed that it is a privilege for JPI to continue its partnership with the TCS, the longest participating organization in Jeju Forum. SG OU expressed appreciation for JPI’s support, and briefed President HAN on the TCS’ ideas for this year’s sessions. She introduced that the TCS is considering human security and youth exchange as the two major themes for its sessions in Jeju Forum, touching upon the issues of common interests among the three countries such as bridging the digital gap between young and elderly in the aging society, and building a solid network among future generations.
President HAN pointed out that the TCS and JPI are very much like-minded organizations, stressing that JPI aims to serve as a cosmopolitan body pursuing the goal of enhancing common interests of the region, with a view to building peaceful and prosperous Northeast Asia.
Both sides agreed to continue to expand the scope of cooperation by mutually utilizing the TCS’ institutionalization capacity and JPI’s extensive network with experts.
