On November 12, 2022, Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) Secretary-General Amb. OU Boqian delivered a keynote speech at the “Beauty of Crested Ibis” exchange program via video link. Themed as “Jointly Build a Community of Life for Man and Nature and Trilateral Cooperation”, the program was co-hosted by Shanghai People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Shaanxi Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Shanghai Landscaping and City Appearance Administrative Bureau, and Shaanxi Provincial Forestry Bureau. 

In her remarks, SG OU spoke highly of crested ibis as a shared cultural symbol of the three countries, pointing out that crested ibis related Trilateral Cooperation has gone far beyond species conservation to other fields such as tourism industry and cultural communication. Valuing the importance of cooperation on crested ibis, she said TCS would continue to host the Crested Ibis International Forum in collaboration with relevant cities and institutes of the three countries. 

Experts, scholars, and business representatives from China, Japan, and ROK participated in the program and shared insights on strengthening cooperation on crested-ibis conservation as well as promoting Trilateral Cooperation in economic and cultural aspects.
