On December 14, 2022, TCS Secretary-General OU Boqian and Deputy Secretary-General SAKATA Natsuko visited the Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future and had a meeting with Chairman Mr. BAN Ki-moon and Ambassador CHOI Sung-joo to extend an invitation to Mr. BAN on future TCS events and discuss further cooperation.
SG OU firstly shared TCS’ upcoming events and projects for the year 2023, including the Carbon Neutrality Forum and Trilateral Youth Month in February. SG OU extended an invitation to Mr. BAN to participate in the Carbon Neutrality Forum as a keynote speaker, due to his career as former UN Secretary-General and a continuous advocate of climate action.
Mr. BAN expressed his gratitude to SG OU and TCS for the invitation. He agreed with SG OU that carbon neutrality is one of the most pressing global agendas and emphasized that TCS’ Carbon Neutrality Forum is very timely and appropriate in such situation. Furthermore, Mr. BAN spoke highly of TCS’ endeavors in promoting trilateral cooperation.
The two sides exchanged views and insights on various issues such as future collaboration ideas and Northeast Asia relations.
