On July 9, 2025, Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), LEE Hee-sup, met with Ms. Beate Trankmann, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Resident Representative in China, on the sidelines of Re:Think 2025 Innovation Week in Chengdu.
LEE Hee-sup emphasized the importance of multilateral partnerships in addressing shared challenges to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). TCS seeks to play a key complementary role in advancing the SDGs by localizing and regionalizing the global agenda within the Northeast Asian context. By fostering cooperation among the three countries, TCS helps translate global commitments into tangible regional progress.
Ms. Beate Trankmann highlighted UNDP’s ongoing initiatives in the region and welcomed the potential for strengthened collaboration with the TCS to further enhance the impact of development cooperation.
