The 15th Top Regulators Meeting (TRM) on Nuclear Safety was held from July 24 to 25, 2025, in Beijing, China. The meeting was chaired by Mr. DONG Baotong, Vice Minister, Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE)/ Administrator, National Nuclear Safety Administration (NNSA) of China, with the participation of Mr. BAN Nobuhiko, Commissioner, Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) of Japan and Ms. CHO Chung Ah, Secretary General and Executive Commissioner, Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC) of the ROK. TCS Deputy Secretary-General ZUSHI Shuji also attended the meeting as an observer and delivered opening remarks.
In his remarks, DSG ZUSHI highlighted the significance of nuclear safety as a vital area of practical trilateral cooperation, underscoring TCS’s continued role in supporting dialogue, data sharing, and public outreach. Marking TCS’s upcoming 15th anniversary, he reaffirmed the TCS’ s commitment to facilitating regional peace, safety, and prosperity through sustained collaboration in nuclear safety and beyond.
The three sides exchanged updates on the current status and progress of nuclear safety activities in each country, and reviewed the outcomes of working groups and Joint Emergency Drill.
The next TRM will be held in Japan in 2026.
