Seminar & Forum TCS co-organized the 3rd Trilateral People-to-People Exchange Forum 2016.10.17 ~ 2016.10.18

From October 17 to 18, 2016, the 3rd Trilateral People-to-People Exchange Forum, co-organized by China Foreign Affairs University (CFAU), Jilin Trilateral Cooperation Studies Center (TCSC) and the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), was held in Changchun, Jilin Province of China. 


TCS Secretary-General YANG Houlan attended the Forum and delivered remarks at the opening ceremony. He reviewed the progress and achievement of people-to-people exchange among the three countries in a long history which made a big contribution to the cordial relationships. He emphasized the significant role of people-to-people exchange in laying a solid foundation of public support as well as promoting the entire trilateral cooperation. In addition, SG Yang encouraged intellectuals from media, academic and local governments to make the joint efforts to further push forward the momentum of trilateral cooperation. 


At the Forum, the TCS also organized a session titled “Media Voice: Forging Cooperative Spirit by Fulfilling Common Responsibility” which invited the journalists of the three countries to discuss ways to further promote the trilateral media cooperation. Deputy Secretary-General LEE Jong-heon also joined this session to make remarks on the importance of media cooperation under the broad spectrum of the trilateral cooperation.


Under the theme of “Fostering the Stability and Prosperity of Northeast Asian by Strengthening Trilateral Communication and Collaboration”, the Forum brought together around 150 participants including senior government officials, scholars, and journalists from China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea (ROK) to have in-depth discussion on ways to enhance mutual trust, people-to-people exchange, media and think-tank cooperation. In accordance with the Forum, Appointment Ceremony of the Network of Trilateral Cooperation Think-tanks (NTCT) Research Centers & Experts and Release of Whitepaper China-Japan-Korea Cooperation (1999-2015) were also held coincidently.
