The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) will host International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation (IFTC) 2017, titled “Strengthening Trilateral Cooperation in the Face of New Challenges” on April 18th in Seoul.
While the trilateral cooperation has gained the momentum by the resumption of the Trilateral Summit since 2015 after a three-and-a-half-year suspension, many newspapers around the world have stated that the world is entering to a new phase of uncertainty with a rise of anti-globalization and protectionism movement. This year, the IFTC revisits the meaning of trilateral cooperation in the context of uncertainties of globalization, draws the importance of economic policy of the three countries to explore new horizons of the future trilateral cooperation, and consolidates the cooperation by sharing three countries’ exemplary initiatives for youth in the midst of complex changes.
Established in 2011 with the agreement of the leaders from the three countries, the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) signifies the three countries’ commitment to enlarging and deepening cooperation. IFTC is one of the annual signature forums of the TCS which brings together eminent scholars and policy makers to offer new insights into the political climate, economic cooperation and social-cultural ties among the three countries.
